I received my BA from Augustana College in 1978 with a double major in Art and Spanish. While I was in college I was fortunate enough to spend a one month Interim in Mexico during 1976 and a month in Italy, France, and the U.K. in 1978. Both trips were for art and art history study.

I had a series of jobs before deciding to return to school for my teaching credentials and began work on my MA. I taught in South Dakota for ten years -- five years as an art teacher, and five years in the gifted and talented department. I completed my MA in gifted education at Augustana College in 1990.

In 1992, I moved to central Iowa where I teach gifted and talented students.
